As marketers take a more active role in influencing business strategy, change management becomes an increasingly important skill. But most marketers think of change management too little.

This week’s roundtable, the seventh of eight weekly conversations hosted by our CEO Steve Kessen, focused on preparing marketers to go beyond simple management in pursuit of change leadership. Jim Kohl, our EVP of Sales + Marketing, joined Steve for the conversation and brought forward perspective from his time at Fathom–and as a Fathom client.

The conversation touched on a variety of situations requiring change management skills, from reacting to circumstances like a leadership shift to leading change on a project such as a company rebrand. Using Kotter’s 8-step framework for change management, the group aligned on specific and actionable approaches to challenges often faced by marketing leaders.
