We are seeking an Search Engine Optimization specialist to join our growing team of digital marketers at Fathom. As an SEO specialist at Fathom, you will be responsible for day-to-day SEO activities and tactical action items for a variety of clients, helping deliver on the project plan established by the SEO strategist and account team.


No two days are alike for our SEO specialists, but there are common responsibilities required of the role. The following describes some of the core activities you will perform:

  • Conduct technical SEO audits to uncover crawling and user experience issues, and surface optimizations and action items for implementation
  • Perform keyword research and competitor gap analysis to improve a site’s visibility, identify new content opportunities, and drive new organic traffic
  • Contribute to the content optimization workstream with a focus on updating metadata, on-page copy, and internal linking
  • Track and measure monthly organic performance and update reports with data, insights, and recommendations
  • Maintain and optimize Google My Business listings
  • Support SEO team with overall client strategy and growth opportunities
  • Implement approved deliverables as needed


If this sounds like an opportunity you’re interested in, note the following requirements as you apply:

  • 1-2 years of SEO experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or related field
  • Understanding of SEO principals, best practices, and industry trends
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google My Business, and SEO tracking and analysis tools such as Brightedge and Screaming Frog
  • Experience with analyzing data and trends and synthesizing insights and optimization recommendations
  • Familiarity with HTML is required (CSS, JavaScript, and/or general web development is preferred)
  • Fast learner, self-motivated, and able to multitask on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communicator with client-facing experience
