Feeds: Food for Thought at Google Webmaster Tools

Google Webmaster Tools has an updated user interface. One of the features I really applaud is the addition of a drop down box for users with multiple domains verified in their console.

This is not earth shaking, but a nice addition. I sometimes want to compare the same data point across several domains, and it used to mean jumping back to the dashboard and finding the domain and then navigating back to the particular statistic. The drop down lets you select the domain and view its data in one click. Nice!

Google also adds subscribers stats to your RSS feeds to the toolbox.

Well, not ALL subscribers, of course.

If your site publishes feeds of its content, this page will display the number of users who have subscribed to these feeds using Google products such as iGoogle, Google Reader, or Orkut. Because readers can use other sites and aggregators to subscribe to your content, your total number of subscribers from all sources may be higher.

As Google also owns FeedBurner, can this be a pilot program to test RSS integration? Will all FeedBurner data get rolled into Webmaster Tools? Stay tuned!
