Mike Maleski is currently overseeing one of the largest dedicated digital teams in professional sports. The Cavaliers digital team, with nine full time members, is considered to be one of the most forward-thinking in the NBA and has authored several digital, mobile, and social best practices within the industry.
Mike joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in March, 2008 and had an immediate impact on the corporate partnership team’s online revenue stream. One of his first orders of business was a coordinated multi-team member effort that altered the Cavs.com sales strategy from a rotational format to the NBA’s first impression-based ad sales platform. Since joining the team he has effectively monetized the team’s social network, CavFanatic.com, by integrating site sponsor Verizon into the fabric of all site objectives and by teaming corporate partner offline promotions with online activation and efficiencies. For his work with the Cavaliers, Mike was featured in Sports Business Journal (Oct. 2009) as one of the NBA’s top new creative executives.
