Do you social network? I know, I know, there's so many of them, and they are confusing. And more importantly, do they even really help my business? Can they?
A good social networking strategy can help your business succeed, if you let it. Let's take Facebook for example, the new sweetheart of the social network scene. Last year it was MySpace, now we have FB.

Facebook just announced that they are opening up to the search engines like Google. What does that mean? It means that it's going to be another legitimate way for your business to be found online.
Customers, in time, will begin to find you through your Facebook listing, through Google, and over more time even, will begin to communicate with you through this social channel.
The point is, the time is now to stop ignoring social networks. Strong brands should focus on "being there" before their customers are. Use these social channels to go out and create a community around your brand and reach new customers. Remember, Google is watching and paying attention.

Facebook has been growing amazingly, and is on the verge of being really important for business as it is. I think this development will actually fuel faster growth in Facebook as people run across listings in Google, but can’t contact the person without signing up for an account. If Facebook is growing by 1.2 million people a week now, it will be 1.7 million a week by October 15.
So yes, businesses should start taking notice of social media.
I have been on Facebook myself for years and I have seen many companies starting to use it and it is a great way to get the companies name out on the web.
