National Hospital Week 2014 is upon us, May 11-17. The week is a chance to stop and celebrate the hospitals and the associates that work within those organizations. They are leading health and wellness initiatives in our communities as well as providing innovative care with compassion. Physicians, nurses, volunteers, administrators, engineers, technicians to name a few need recognition for their dedication.
The American Hospital Association (AHA) is providing healthcare organizations with information to help promote National Hospital Week 2014. They have a list of promotional “tools” including drafted Tweets, graphics and newsletter copy to utilize during the week. In addition, the AHA is hosting a Tweetchat on May 11th at 11 am ET using the hashtag #HospitalWeek.
There is already a lot of talk within the healthcare community about the awareness week with 335 mentions online since April 1st. People are mainly using Twitter to talk about it and promote their campaigns.
Compared to only 126 mentions during the same time period last year. (National Hospital Week was May 5-11, 2013.)
Many hospitals across the country are finding ways to honor and recognize their hospital teams. From serving ice cream at GVMH in Clinton, MO, to Lourdes Medical Center’s taking care of inmates to Greene County General Hospital honoring staff members with donations to the Hospital Foundation.
