  • The most prevalent on-page SEO issues include images with missing alt and title attributes, links with no anchor text, meta descriptions that are missing or are the wrong length and pages with duplicate content. These issues are all relatively easy to fix and easy to prevent! Make sure your site doesn’t have these issues, or else it could negatively affect your traffic and rankings.
  • The new mobile ad-blocking apps are posing quite an issue. They may be blocking analytics from crawling your own mobile site and your pages may not render correctly if ads don’t show up. Look into workarounds to make sure you’re still getting your GA information and your site still looks good.
  • The new Yahoo, Google agreement shouldn’t affect SEO best practices. In general, SEO tactics that work for Google have usually worked for other search engines. However, it does make it that much more important to rank well in Google.
  • If you’ve been seeing ranking fluctuations in the past few weeks, they could have been caused by a “Zombie” update to Google’s core algorithm. Although Google will not confirm an update, signs point to something definitely happening behind the scenes.
  • Keyword stuffing your business listings is NOT white hat and you should refrain from testing it out yourself, as Google will likely catch on soon. However, it would be a good idea to check out your competition and see if they’re taking advantage of this.
  • With Facebook’s new search feature, it may be time to start using SEO to optimize your social posts.
