With 4 in 5 consumers actively searching for businesses like yours on search engines it’s not hard to see why you should be focusing on one of the most crucial sectors of online marketing. Want more? 42% of those consumers visit a location within a day.

  • Your business information may be listed wrong.

It’s not uncommon for a business’ local listing to be automatically generated, which is great for the less internet savvy businesses. However it’s also not uncommon for this information to be flat out wrong. Consumers could be showing up to the wrong address, or calling the wrong phone number because you didn’t check to see if it was correct. According to Yext, 95% of internet consumers have reported finding wrong information about a business they were searching for. Simply having an accurate, basic listing shouldn’t be the end of your project. Optimizing and filling out the information as completely as possible, increases the likelihood your listing will be seen and clicked on.

  • You can get a high ROI with little investment.

With some of the local listing platforms (Google, for instance), you can actually see the performance increase. Recently we claimed a location for a local business that did not previously have a local listing on Google. The results were tremendous. In the past 30 days this listing received more than 26,000 views, a 667% increase from the previous month! The business also received 70 clicks on their listing (directions, clicks to websites, more information, etc.) a 438% increase from the previous month.

But what if you are a physician, and not a “typical” consumer business, can you still get results? Absolutely.

Even for a physician who previously had a local listing on Google, we were able to accomplish a 419% increase in views from the previous month by claiming the listing, filling it out completely, verifying and optimizing it.
