Google+ and the Knowledge Graph – Applied to the Top Brands of 2012

The Google Knowledge Graph is a relatively new addition to Google’s SERPs that aims to provide searchers with a more dynamic experience when searching the Web. The simplest explanation of this feature is that it is an attempt to provide information instead of websites, as it relates to search queries.

Google “Freshness” Update – 5 Action Items

Yesterday, Google’s search quality master Amit Singhal made a post on the Official Google Blog that raised more than a few eyebrows across the search engine universe – especially in the SEO field.

Already being deemed the “Freshness” update, the blog post explained that Google has made some updates and changes to the algorithm to complement the Caffeine web indexing system – one of the major updates in the past 18 months. Lessen the Impact of Google Search Privacy Changes on Your Analytics

Last week, Google announced on its blog that it was making some changes that will affect the availability of search engine data. Google claims that these changes are being made in an effort to make search more secure.

What is Changing?

Essentially, users who are signed into a Google service on their browser will be redirected to the secure version of Google search (https://www.google.com). Searches made from this secure version of Google are encrypted, so the keyword terms that users type in their search are “protected” – sort of.*
