Under the direction of Scot Lowry, President and CEO, our leadership group is responsible for guiding the company’s vision, short- and long-term strategies, and putting the right people in the right places. Concentrating on product lines, customer service, sales/business development, and the overall financial picture, together this group etches goals and revises numbers on an erasable wall deep in the executive quarters of Fathom’s Cleveland base. After charting out company-wide priorities by quarter and year, they then marshal the resources to make them happen.
Scot Lowry, President & CEO
Scot Lowry, CEO, joined Fathom in 2007 when he and Kevin Shaw acquired the company during the transition from early stage investors to the long term ownership structure currently in place. Prior to Fathom, Scot held leadership positions with complex service organizations in real-estate development, construction management, finance, sports and recreation facilities and health care information technology. Scot’s studied Finance and Entrepreneurship with degrees from the University of Florida (BS) and the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University (MBA). Scot is on the boards of Promise Partners Entrepreneurship Incubator, BVU’s Center for Non-Profit Excellence, Engage!Cleveland Young Professional Catalyst and The Congregation of St. Joseph’s River’s Edge Center for Reflection and Action. Scot is passionate about creating scalable, purpose–rich cultures that encourage people and organizations to reach for their full potential, capture their dreams and make positive contributions in the world.
Kevin Shaw, Chairman
Kevin Shaw became Chairman of Fathom in 2007. Kevin is also co-founder of PromiseONE and owner of Thunderbay Enterprises (TBE), a firm which invests in private companies. Prior to forming TBE and PromiseONE, Kevin served as President/CEO of NCS Healthcare, a publicly traded institutional pharmacy. He co-founded NCS in 1986, led its public offering and ran the company until its sale in 2003. At NCS, Kevin acquired in excess of 50 companies. Prior to NCS, he was employed by McKinsey & Company and Owens Corning Fiberglass. He serves on the board of Erie Plastics, Federal Process Company, and several private companies. Kevin is a graduate of Harvard College and Stanford Graduate School of Business (MBA).
Kevin Herendeen, Chief Financial Officer
Kevin joined Fathom in May 2010. Kevin earned his CPA in 1988, and began working for public accounting firms, high-risk auto insurance companies, and brokerage firms. He held the office of VP of Finance at Victoria Financial Corporation, a high-growth company growing from $10M in revenue in 1990 to $65M in revenue in 1995. From 1995 to 2008, Kevin operated as VP & Controller, CFO and COO at Harris InfoSource, where he was responsible for four acquisitions. He was also the lead in the sale of the company to D&B in 2001. At D&B, Kevin served as VP of Small Business Credit Sales, responsible for multiple locations with more than 300 sales and support personnel, and over $100M in revenue. Kevin held the title of CFO for Life Settlement Insights LLC in Solon, Ohio, until it was sold to an insurance company in Pennsylvania in 2009. Kevin also serves in the capacity of Board Advisor for Cole Information of Omaha, Nebraska.
Jeff Leo Herrmann, Chief Revenue Officer
Jeff is a champion of B2B sales and marketing alignment and brand audience development through content marketing. His passion lies in the development of strategies to leverage content, technology and data to accelerate sales and realize extraordinary growth. With a commitment to constant learning, leadership development, and teaching, Jeff feels fortunate to have a live laboratory to experiment in every day as the Founder of SalesQuants and the Chief Revenue Officer of Fathom. He is a resource to both sales executives and CMOs because of his understanding of the dynamics of their relationship. You won’t find a bigger content marketing zealot with an intense belief that brands are better off engaging their audiences with educational, entertaining and problem solving content instead of blasting them with massive traditional advertising campaigns. This perspective is well informed after a 15-year career at The Nielsen Company spent in audience measurement and advertising effectiveness. Jeff earned an MBA in finance and economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and holds an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University School of Communication.
Amy Marshall, President | Fathom Healthcare
Amy Marshall joined Fathom Columbus (at the time, Webbed Marketing) as a partner in 2007. Amy has more than 15 years of marketing and sales experience. Before joining Webbed Marketing, she held positions at successful international software companies such as Sterling Commerce and Quest Software, focusing on product marketing and global channel development. She has led international marketing campaigns for flagship products and her work has been recognized by the media, the industry and her channel partners. During her tenure with Quest her product line was recognized by TechEd in 2007, winning the “Best of Award for the SharePoint Category.” Her progressive Internet marketing strategies focus on using communities and Web 2.0 technologies to help businesses grow. Amy has extensive experience in working with technology companies through mergers and acquisitions. She holds bachelor’s degrees in international business and Japanese.
Bill Balderaz, Founder | Fathom Healthcare
Prior to launching Webbed Marketing (the previous name of Fathom Columbus), founder Bill Balderaz worked with some of the largest publishers in the world to plan, execute and measure Internet marketing programs. He began working on search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising and link-building in 1998, prior to the launch of Google. He has spoken on Internet marketing topics at events sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America, the American Marketing Association and the National Fuel Funds Network. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations journalism from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from Franklin University.
Sean Wenger, President | Fathom Manufacturing
Sean joined Fathom in 2014 and currently leads our Manufacturing business. Sean spent most of his career with Johnson Controls, where he held several roles including sales, sales management, operations, and multiple general management positions. Sean has a passion for the manufacturing space and supporting our clients in the areas of strategy, sales process, technology deployment, and revenue generation. Sean holds a MBA from Case Western Reserve University. Outside of Fathom, Sean is active in the non-profit community and sits on several boards, including United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland and the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning. Sean resides in Northeast Ohio with his wife Katie and their children Alec and Meredith.
Steve Kessen, President | Fathom Education
Steve leads Fathom’s innovative approach to analytics and digital marketing, working primarily with enterprise clients. He started his career at Ernst & Young as a CPA in the State of Ohio, eventually shifting tracks to become vice president and general manager at TeamWork Online, where he worked with more than 750 of the top brands in sports, including the NBA, NFL, NHL MLB, NASCAR, and ESPN Wide World of Sports. Prior to his role at TeamWork Online, Steve was one of the first ever dedicated analytics professionals in the professional sports business for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Steve holds an MBA from the Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Business and a BBA in Accounting from Kent State University. In addition to Steve’s full-time role at Fathom, he is also an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Master of Sport Industry Management program. Steve resides in Northeast Ohio with his wife and son.
Drew Kraemer, President | Fathom Consumer Brands
Drew Kraemer currently serves as president of Fathom Consumer Brands. Drew is a goal-oriented professional with a successful track record working with a variety of clients across all industries. He has been able to provide clients with innovative and entrepreneurial strategies to exceed their digital marketing goals and transform their businesses. Drew provides a consultative approach to enable organizations to integrate their corporate & business strategies into successful digital marketing initiatives aimed to build brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and increase revenue. With a focus on measurable ROI, he has also successfully built digital strategies for clients by utilizing a foundation of sophisticated analytics, paired with a combination of paid, owned, and earned media. Drew has worked with several satisfied clients including Eaton Corporation, Abbott Nutrition, Speck Products, Red Roof Inn, KeyBank, Bissel, American Greetings, and Safelite AutoGlass. Drew holds a degree in Sports Marketing from Bowling Green State University, and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Elizabeth Lynch, VP | Leadership Development
Elizabeth is responsible for recruiting employees and executing professional-growth programs once they arrive. She established and maintains Fathom’s Leadership Development Program, in addition to handling HR issues and conflict management. In her former position as the director of email marketing operations, she was responsible for the growth, retention and maintenance of all email marketing clients, in addition to managing a group of 12 account executives, marketing specialists and programmers. Elizabeth holds an Executive MBA from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. She also holds a BA in psychology from Miami University of Ohio.
Rob Ament, VP of Digital Strategy | Fathom Healthcare
Rob Ament, VP, Digital Strategy, has been active in the digital marketing space for more than a dozen years, with roles at EDS, HP, Nationwide, Manta.com and now Fathom. Rob’s web experience started with the earliest versions of online credit card applications, creating sales/conversion focused ecommerce websites, and evolved to actively building digital marketing channels through Organic Search and Paid Search. Today, Rob is responsible for operational and client services support for the Fathom Healthcare division, as well as client retention and digital marketing strategy using Paid and Organic search for clients within Fathom Healthcare. Rob holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing management as well as an MBA with a focus on Marketing Consulting.In his free time, Rob is active in his community serving with his wife and three girls, as well as coaching and refereeing youth sports. A native of Pittsburgh, he is a fan of all things related to Pittsburgh sports teams.
Stephen Epple, VP | Nurture Marketing
Stephen Epple, Vice President of Nurture Marketing, has been with Fathom for 5 years. With his energy and depth of experience in business operations, technology, strategy and nurture he has led the evolution of the Nurture Solutions Team at Fathom. His leadership and 10+ years of experience helps build transformational partnerships with clients and continuously raises the standards. Stephen supports email, marketing automation and, as a former Salesforce admin, supports our CRM consulting practice. He has worked with clients across B2B and B2C verticals including Healthcare clients like Cleveland Clinic, Cardinal Health and Temple Health.
When he’s not designing nurture strategies, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. His personal philosophy is that routine will set you free. But routine, plus technology will unleash you and your marketing programs. This belief constantly pushes him to utilize technology to its fullest. Stephen has a life-long love of learning which keeps him always striving to raise standards for him and his clients.
Sean Nowlin, President | Paid Media
Sean joined Fathom in 2014 and currently leads all paid media efforts at Fathom, helping to chart a course for our clients across the paid media landscape. Born on the client-side at Progressive Insurance, Sean has a deep breadth of expertise in programmatic display advertising. He is always looking to expand his digital knowledge, and has a love for all things ad tech and programmatic. Sean has a broad sales and distribution background in consumer packaged goods. He achieved his MBA in May 2013 at Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management.
